ABOUT

Born and raised in the Bronx, JU$TIN was exposed to Hip-Hop culture and the creative arts at an early age. Inspired by everything from late 90’s Rap icons like Big Pun, Nas, & Wu-Tang Clan to iconic 90’s Marvel Comics illustrators like Jim Lee, Todd McFarlane, & Rob Liefeld. With those influences in mind the NY native embarked on a journey into music and art. He was accepted into Manhattan’s prestigious High School of Art & Design, where he majored in illustration. JU$TIN began honing his rap skills in lunchroom battles, which led to studio time, and learning how to create a rap song.

Unfortunately, JU$TIN’s rap dreams didn’t materialize like he wanted them to and he was on the verge of becoming another statistic when he dropped out of High School, also shattering his hopes of a career in illustration. Refusing to become a product of his environment, JU$TIN got his G.E.D. and enrolled into community college at BMCC to honor the hard work both his parents invested into his upbringing. In 2001, JU$TIN enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he worked as a Logistics Specialist during two 6 month deployments aboard the USS George Washington CVN-73 stationed at Norfolk, VA. The Operation OIF/OEF war veteran relocated from San Diego to Los Angeles, CA in 2007 to return back to college and complete his degree as soon as he was discharged from the military. JU$TIN graduated with honors from Santa Monica College with an Associate’s degree in Graphic Design, and was accepted into Otis College of Art & Design’s celebrated Communication Arts program with a 15K scholarship.

JU$TIN also invested in studio equipment while going back school, and even took a few Digital Audio classes to learn how to properly mix his own songs. He started recording at a rapid pace with a renewed passion for the creative process that goes into making music. JU$TIN released an unmixed version of his debut EP “JU$T HU$TLE BxTxH: 3883076”, that he recorded by himself in his home studio in late 2015. It featured the single “Boo$t My Ego” produced by @RJ3re, the project was received well online from many Hip-Hop/Rap websites and blogs. He followed up that digital release with another EP titled “$treet ART”, that was a throwback tape paying homage to 90’s era New York City rap classics, and was also a metaphor for vandalizing other peoples property by taking other artists beats and spitting his own rhymes over them.

JU$TIN focused on building up his fan base online by consistently releasing music in 2016 with multiple independent projects like the 5 song EP “JUSTIN Designed THAT”, featuring the single “Jackie Joyner Kersee” produced by @TrapMafiaBeatz and the 12 song mixtape “$treet ART 2”, that was a sequel to the first one and includes the single “Fresh Denim” produced by MMG’s own @AOneBeats and the popular freestyle “Key 2 Success”. To close out the year on a positive note, JU$TIN rereleased an updated version of his debut EP “JU$T HU$TLE BxTxH: 3883076” in December of 2016 that was mixed and mastered properly with two new bonus songs produced by JU$TIN. In the beginning of 2017, JU$TIN released his first debut street album that was a 12 song sequel to 2016’s “JUSTIN Designed THAT” titled “JUSTIN Designed THAT Too”. The digital album featured the singles “Gucci BRRR Man”, “Next Summer”, and “Shaka Zulu”, with original production done by MMG’s own AOne Beats, Beats By AUSK, Tha 5th Element, and Cobie Beats, among others. The digital only album has racked up over 30K streams on Spotify with minimal promotion behind it. JU$TIN has collaborated with Grammy Award winner and “Love & HipHop: ATL” star Stevie J on one of his latest singles, “You’s A (Sexy)” that was released in February of 2017 through JU$TIN’s independent label JDT Media GRP. You can stream and purchase JU$TIN’s music on Apple Music, Spotify, Google Play Music, Tidal, iHeartRadio, Bandcamp, and all online digital music retailers.

With a background in art and design, JU$TIN has decided to also launched his own line of merchandise in the form of exclusive apparel like tees, sweatshirts, hoodies, etc., designed by him for sale on his website. In 2017, JU$TIN started his own entertainment company, “JDT Media GRP” that handles the day-to-day activities for JU$TIN from art direction, to production, photo shoots, press kits & bios, video shoots, interviews, etc. JU$TIN views himself as a content creator/entrepreneur not just a rapper. He wants to impact the culture in such a way that his influence will be undeniable to the public. A student of the game, JU$TIN studied the greats before him to create a style that is nostalgic, but with a modern updated twist to it that should be appealing to most. JU$TIN is a kid from the Bronx, who positioned himself as this culture’s new Renaissance Man through hard work, talent, and dedication.
